For the past few years it seems like summer hasn’t really kicked off until Detroit legend John Beltran drops a Back To Bahia release on MotorCity Wine Recordings. For the Volume 4 7”, John goes even extra deep. “Laguna” takes up the A-side, with plenty of uplifting Afro-Brazilian drums and live bass from James Simonson, synth swells, and keyboards for those beautiful soundsystem moments. On the flip side is “Just Beyond The Sun”, a super-extra-Balearic number for sunset sets and more. We think this is the perfect end to the Back To Bahia series from John, and per usual it’s produced and manufactured in Detroit. TIP!
